“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” is the undeniable lead contender at this year’s Teen Choice Awards. The flick received 12 nods, including Choice Movie: Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy for both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner and Choice Movie Actress: Sci-Fi/Fantasy for Kristen Stewart.
The other big nominations for the flick include two for Choice Movie: Liplock (for K-Stew’s kisses with both Lautner and RPattz), Bryce Dallas Howard for Choice Movie: Villain, Kellan Lutz for Choice Movie: Male Scene Stealer and Ashley Greene for Choice Movie: Female Scene Stealer.
But there are some other movies, TV shows and musicians vying for surfboards on August 7. “Glee,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,” Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and “The Hangover Part II” all received nominations for the show, which airs on Fox.
Gomez and Swift face off against each other in the Choice Music: Love Song category for their songs “Love You Like a Love Song” and “Mine,” respectively. They are up against Allstar Weekend (“Come Down With Love”), Bruno Mars (“Just the Way You Are”) and Katy Perry (“Teenage Dream”).
Interestingly enough, exes Joe Jonas (who is also up for Choice Male Hottie) and Swift battle it out in the Choice Break-Up Song category. Swift is nominated for “Back to December” and Jonas for his solo single “See No More.” They go up against Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”), Cee Lo Green (“Forget You”) and Mars (“Grenade”).
Voting has kicked off, and for a complete list of nominees, fans can visit the show’s official website. More information on the host, presenters and performers will be announced closer to show day.
Kristen Stewart is one of the most popular new actresses to emerge in the last few years, so it’s no surprise that she’s nominated for three People’s Choice Awards: Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite Movie Star Under 25, and Favorite On Screen Team.
Last summer we had the chance to sit down with Kristen and talk about her work in the Twilight franchise and where that “Favorite On Screen Team” of Kristen, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner finds its chemistry.
“Our movie isn’t perfect,” she said. “None of our characters are perfect at all. They’re all so completely crazy and messed up and that’s why they go well together. They don’t make excuses for their weirdness and they accept each other for who they are.”
Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have soared to No1. on yet another list; Their Twilight: Eclipse” DVD is now the top seller not only in New York, but across the country.
The DVD and Blu-Ray discs were released Dec. 4. The two-disc national DVD and the Blu-ray/DVD combo includes every special feature available, including commentaries by Rob, Kristen and “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer.
The film grossed more than $300 million worldwide in theaters and within the first two days had sold more than 3 million units, according to Summit Home Entertainment.
While the pace is off previous sales for the original “Twilight” and sequel “New Moon,” Summit believes holiday sales leading up to Christmas will push it to the top of the list.
It seems with all the fame and glamour, Kristen Stewart still feels the pressure every now and again. In a recent interview with the Vancouver Sun, Eclipse Director, David Slade reveals how hard it was for Stewart to relate to her character, Bella. With millions of fans anxiously anticipating each film as they come out, the pressure must be insurmountable. Slade remarks,
“[Kristen] would say, ‘I don’t know who Bella is to me.’ In a lot of ways, I think she felt Bella was the antithesis to her, which presented a lot of challenges for Kristen… She would beat herself up about it, because she wants to be there. She never wants to leave a scene undone”
According to Twirlit, Kristen wasn’t the only one to have problems on the set, but she was definitely the hardest on herself.
